Pre-Departure Cruise Prep
Though cruising may be the cruisiest holiday available - pun intended, that does not mean you get to completely kick back and relax, well not yet anyway. Here is a handy checklist to make sure you're prepared as you embark on your next holiday experience.
Power Adapter
Local cruises may provide Australian adapters, but US and European sockets are the industry standard, so pack a universal adapter.
Passport
For international travel, ensure your passport has six months validity after your planned return. Renewal can take six weeks, so plan accordingly.
Cruises Starting Overseas
When sailing from a non-Australian port, additional arrangements such as flights, transfers and accommodation may be required.
Shore Excursions
Exploring dry land is exciting - prepare ahead by booking via the cruise line to ensure no challenges occur with your activities.
Cash and Money
Even though most cruise ships have gone digital, it's smart to carry cash for local purchases during port days. Plan ahead and organise the correct currency prior to departure.
Drinks and Dining

Wave Wellness
Get travel insurance and seasickness remedies beforehand. Seasickness is rare, but can affect some. While medical assistance is available on all ships, charges apply.
Transfers
Stay stress-free whilst onboard. Plan for transfers, some cruise ports are further away, so it is important you not only check early, but plan ahead by booking in your transport.
